Green Lynx Spider (male)

Green Lynx Spider (male)

That this is a male Green Lynx Spider (Peucetia viridans) can be seen in the field by noting the enlargement of the last segment of the pedipalps (what appear to be small legs but are really mouth parts.) Known as palpal organs, they are used to transfer semen to the female.
